Turning up the heat: Radiator 1-3 (Half-Life 2: Ep2)

Oh, hey, would you look at that? Robert Yang’s still hard at work on the final episode of Radiator Volume 1, but he’s taken the time off to release the rather purdy screenshot that you see above (click it for fullness).

Robert really knows how to paint a scene through expert use of colour and glorious contrast between simple and complex visual elements.  That’s been something evidenced by the previous Radiator releases, both of which were excellent and both of which you should absolutely play now if you haven’t already.  1-1 was an awkward date and a lesson in astronomy. 1-2 was a journey into the inside of a troubled man’s mind, as his marriage counsellor and partner yabbered on in the background.  Robert creates artful but completely grounded games: I’ve always loved the humanity he conveys in his short narrative structures, and the fact the idea of play is never neglected. I know we haven’t seen eye to eye on everything, but ultimately, he’s the one making the exceptional mods…
