Well, crikey, this looks both interesting and unfortunate at the same time. Dual Reality, which was announced over the weekend, is an upcoming Half-Life 2 mod described as a “puzzle-oriented game with small bits of combat/action”, one that allows you to “interact with space and time in a god-like way”. Awesome. Through various programming tricks, its developer (who previously worked on the excellent Fistful of Frags mod) has apparently transformed the Source Engine into one that can simultaneously deal with two realities at once… whatever that means. Details are sketchy. That only makes it all the more enticing.
Except… it’s just intended as a proof-of-concept. Which is a shame, as it means no story or context to slot alongside what looks like a really neat idea. Hopefully someone will pick it up and run with it, though, as the teaser vid released looks mightily intriguing. And that jelly-block looks awesome! Watch the vid below the jump.
