Call of Pripyat: Reloaded “Light” released
Posted on March 15th, 2010 5 comments
Have a pretty sunset, courtesy of Call of Pripyat: Reloaded, which has just released its “light” edition. In the long tradition of Stalker “Reloaded” mods, it aims to tweak things that developers GSC Game World totally got right in the first place. YOU HEARD ME.
It looks nice, though, it has to be said, although it seems to lack the oppressive atmosphere the vanilla Stalker games thrive upon. COP: Reloaded is basically a combination of the Atmosfear mod with other graphical updates at this point, though “gameplay changes” are planned for future releases. Christ. That doesn’t bode well for me. Then again, I play the original Stalker without the Oblivion Lost mod, which a great many people think I’m an idiot for. Am I alone in thinking the Stalker games (by which I mean the first and third ones, not Clear Sky) are actually pretty much phenomenal out of the box? Except the bugs, of course.

I concur with MuscleHorse. I recently played through the first STALKER again (for the 5th time or so) with only the 2009 Complete Mod installed for prettier graphics.
Any gameplay changes are a no-go for me.

It is well… well worth playing through the first STALKER again with the L.U.R.K. mod. Absolutely brilliant, personally I believe it is well beyond Complete 2009 (the stealth in particular and a.i. improvements are grand).
But ah Clear Sky. What a mess, stuff that mods can’t simply fix. Shame. Luckily Call of Pripyat is rather great.
