Great list guys. There’s a mod for UT2003/2004 that I’ve always had a soft spot for, but it never makes these lists. AirBuccaneers! Remember that? I never really got a chance to play it properly with a big gang of people but I always had the impression it would have been epic.
As far as the Battlefield series of games go, how does Project Reality make the list and Desert Combat does not? Don’t get me wrong, PR was good, but there has never been a Battlefield mod that has matched good ‘ol DC.
Ah Lost Village I miss you so…
Hmmm. Wasn’t trying to be a dick at all. Maybe if I try and put it another way:
It is my considered opinion that any list entitled ‘Unmissable Mods” that does not include the Fall from Heaven II mod for Civ IV, which I consider to be better than every single mod you listed, and arguably the best mod ever made, and which is in fact so good it will be coming for Civ V as it’s own stand alone release leading me to believe it is held in high esteem beyond myself, is in fact *missing* a great deal in that single omission. So much so as to negate the title entirely, for me. I will now proceed to hide behind disclaimers: I’m just stating my opinion, ie, I say what I say about it is entirely based of “what I like”. And just comments, not attacks on the legitimacy of the authors opinions outside my own … commentary.
Then again, what I originally wrote was much more succinct and not unreadable as the drivel I just typed, albeit programmer-geeky.
