32 players just isn't good enough anymore

This would be for those of you crazy folks that see 32 players limits as an insult to such a loaded game mode name as “Warfare.” Enterprising modder ambershee saw that the 32 player limit of offline Warfare just didn’t cut it, especially when compared to the 64 player limit of online Warfare, a gamemode for Unreal Tournament 3. Therefore, the only possible solution to this dilemma would be to increase the player limit to 128. Apparently, even this isn’t good enough.

In what was a deceptively large mod to complete, ambershee increased the player count of offline warfare to a staggering 1024 players. That’s about 512 players on each team. For the unenlightened, Warfare mode is basically the same thing as the Onslaught mode from Unreal Tournament 2004, or the Conquest mode from Battlefield, where you capture all the points in order to win the game. Except now you can do it with a couple hundred computer players, and the added fun of hoping your computer doesn’t blow up from the strain.

There’s only a beta version of the mod out right now, which allows up to 128 players. If you wait until November 9th, you’ll get the full thing with 1024 players.
